Mission Statement for Workshop:
This workshop is designed to teach people how to “See the World in
Photographs”. We cover many technical aspects of Photography and we teach
people how to make better choices with their “own” cameras. We also spend
a lot of time teaching people how to break down a photograph into all of
its technical and artistic elements. In the same workshop, we may have a
total beginner with a “point and shoot” camera sitting next to a seasoned
professional who is looking for a different perspective. All ages and
abilities are welcomed. We will share all of our secrets on every aspect
of our photography business and our secrets on how we shoot. Any film or
digital camera is accepted. Just bring your camera manual and an open
mind.
Saturday: Begins
at 8 am and runs until 10 pm with continental breakfast served and then we
will go out for a late morning shoot. We will then go back to the Loft
for classroom sessions. Lunch can be purchased at the deli downstairs in
the Center Building. Then afternoon classroom session and group critique.
Dinner at the Loft will be catered (included) followed by a social time
afterwards. At 7:15 we will head out for the evening shoot (carpool)
where we will put to use what we have learned during the day. Sunset is
roughly scheduled for 8:45 pm that day. If we are lucky, the best light
may appear around 9:15 or 9:30 pm.
Sunday: Meet at the
Loft at 8:30 am for a continental breakfast. We will collect everyone’s
digital media cards and will download them while everyone is eating. 9:00
am We will start viewing people’s images from both Saturday shoots. We
will look at ten or more images from each person. We will be reviewing
the concepts we learned from the day before. A quick review of Photoshop
CS3 and Camera Raw. 11:45 Question and answer period. We can go over any
aspect of photography and our photography business and anything else
people want to know about us. End of workshop!
